Privacy Policy

Backwater Built LLC is a small, owner-led remodeling company. The only information this website collects is what you choose to send through the project inquiry form. It is used to respond to you about your project — nothing else.

• Contact details you enter: name, email address, phone number, and the project address information you choose to share.
• Project details: what you’re hoping to do, timing, budget range, past contractor experience, priorities, how you’d like to be involved, how you heard about us, and how you prefer to be reached.
• Any photos you choose to upload. Photos are optional.
• Basic technical information submitted with the form — your browser’s user agent and a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address, used only to limit spam and repeated automated submissions.

We don’t run advertising trackers, analytics tools, session recording, or marketing pixels on this site, and we don’t use cookies for tracking.

To read and understand your project, to contact you about it, and to prepare for a conversation or a walkthrough. We don’t sell your information, rent it, or share it with marketers.

Inquiries are saved in this website’s database, which is hosted by our website infrastructure provider. Photos are stored in a private storage area — they are not posted publicly and are not given a public web address. When Rusty needs to view them, they are opened through a temporary link that expires.

A notification email about your inquiry is sent to Rusty through Resend, an email delivery service. Those are the only outside services involved in handling what you submit.

Inquiry records and uploaded photos are kept in private, access-restricted storage and are not readable by the public. The form also includes spam protections and submission rate limits. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep this simple and limit access to what Rusty needs to do the work.

Inquiries and photos are kept as long as they’re useful for the project or our business records. If you’d like your inquiry and any photos deleted, just ask and we’ll take care of it.

This website isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

If how we handle information changes, this page will be updated to reflect it.

Reach out any time and ask — about your information, a deletion request, or anything on this page.
