Backwater Built LLC is led by Rusty Maureau and based in Bridge City, Louisiana. The name comes from the marsh and backwater country he calls home; the way he works comes from years spent learning the job from every side.

Experience earned from doing the work.
Rusty has about 15 years of hands-on construction experience across remodeling, ground-up construction, fabrication, painting, and installation. That range helps him see a project as a whole, not just the part in front of him.
He stepped away from the tools for a period and gained a different view of the business side of construction. When he came back, he wanted to do the work his own way: practical problem-solving, straightforward communication, realistic expectations, and workmanship he could stand behind.
After the trucks leave and the dust settles, the quality of the work is what remains. Rusty’s name stays attached to it. That matters more than being the fastest or the cheapest.
